Packers Wide Receiver Amari Rodgers on How He’ll Improve in 2022.

To say that Amari Rodgers had a disappointing season in 2021 would be an understatement. Not only did he not play well enough to earn a place in the wide receiver rotation last year, he lost his job as the Packers’ kick and punt returner. After a disappointing rookie season, Rodgers reflected on what he could change about himself to be better in 2022. He decided to get into better shape, which has paid off so far during these early preseason activities.

    Amari Rodgers Feels More Confident

Amari Rodgers is looking to become a regular contributor to the Packers offense in 2022.

There is a saying: “Look good, feel good.” That certainly seems to have worked for Amari Rodgers so far this offseason. He came into preseason activities leaner and more confident in himself. Multiple players and coaches have noticed this, too, and have sung his praises to the media.

As mentioned, Amari Rodgers did not play very well in 2021. After being drafted in the third round by the Packers, many expected him to be the next Randall Cobb. After all, Rodgers’ father was Cobb’s wide receivers’ coach at Kentucky. Rodgers even said he modeled his game after Cobb’s.

However, that did not happen in 2021. Rodgers did not perform well as the Packers’ kick or punt returner. Additionally, he played so poorly in practice that players like Malik Taylor and Juwann Winfree were given snaps over him on offense.

As a returner, Amari Rodgers had 20 punt returns for 166 yards. He also returned 11 kicks for 199 yards. On offense, Rodgers had just four receptions on eight targets for 45 yards.

To say an improvement is need in 2022 would be an understatement. From what Rodgers and those around him in the wide receiver room have to say, we are going to see it.
