In light of the recent Aaron Jones injury, the Green Bay Packers hosted a workout for former Lions running back Kerryon Johnson. Aaron Jones is only expected to miss a few weeks, but with AJ Dillon being the starter, Green Bay needs depth at the position.
Kerryon Johnson was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 2018 NFL draft. In three seasons with Detroit, he started in 16 games and totaled 1,225 rushing yards with eight touchdowns. Along with that, Johnson also racked up 527 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 61 receptions. At 24 years old, 5’11 and 211lbs, Johnson can be a successful third down running back in the right scheme.
If signed, Johnson will likely be the third running back on the roster, behind AJ Dillon and Patrick Taylor. The Packers still have Kerrith Whyte and Ryquell Armstead on the practice squad.
