To say that fans of the Green Bay Packers were not happy with the team’s performance against the Washington Commanders would be an understatement. The Packers have lost three straight, are 3-4, and face one of the best teams in the NFL (the 5-1 Buffalo Bills) on Sunday night. There were plenty of poor performances in their most recent loss, among them that of rookie wide receiver Romeo Doubs. The fourth-round pick did not record a catch and had a few drops. In a recent press conference, wide receivers coach Jason Vrable revealed that no one was more unhappy about Doubs’ performance than Doubs himself.
Jason Vrable Discusses How Romeo Doubs Reacted to His Performance
According to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, Vrable said that Doubs was more mad than he had ever seen him after the Commanders game. This was unusual because, according to him, Doubs is usually “even-keeled.”
Packers WR coach Jason Vrable said Romeo Doubs during Sunday's loss to the Commanders was the maddest he's ever seen him. Doubs is normally even-keeled, but Vrable said the rookie wasn't pleased with his performance.

The loss to the Commanders was the first game in which Doubs did not record a catch. So far this season, Doubs has 26 receptions for 234 yards and two touchdowns. He also has five drops and an 11.9% drop percentage to go along with two fumbles. This is not to say that his season has been bad. Keep in mind, he is a rookie wide receiver. There will be growing pains. It is promising that he is taking his poor performance against the Commanders so hard.
The Packers Need Romeo Doubs to Step Up Against the Bills
The Green Bay Packers will be playing with a diminished wide receiver core on Sunday night. To combat this, they will need Doubs to step up in a big way against one of the top defenses in the NFL. A performance like the one he had against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week Three would be a pleasant development. In that game, Doubs had eight receptions on eight targets for 73 yards and a touchdown.
