The Packers improved to 10-3 yesterday with a 31-24 win in Detroit vs The Lions. The Packers are now NFC North Division champions and clinched a playoff berth for the second straight season. The Saints also lost yesterday 24-21 which moves Green Bay into the number one seed in the NFC.
Rodgers to Adams
Aaron Rodgers is in the MVP Conversation and had another big day yesterday with 290 passing yards and four total touchdowns. Davante Adams went off again with seven receptions, 115 yards, and a TD. Davante has scored a TD in his last 8 games. This duo is on another level right now as the Packers head into the stretch run.
Special Teams and Tackling
The special teams outside of Mason Crosby has been awful this year. Green Bay allowed a long kickoff return yesterday and Mason Crosby recorded a tackle on that play. It’s a bad sign when the kicker is making a touchdown-saving tackle. Crosby did make a 58 yard FG in yesterday’s game to put the Packers up by two possessions. The Packers struggled with tackling as well yesterday especially on screen passes.
MVS has Big Game
MVS has struggled at points this season but yesterday he stepped up in a big way with six receptions, 85 yards, and a TD. If MVS continues to play like he did yesterday the Packers will be tough to beat in the playoffs.
What’s Next
The Packers now shift their focus to The Carolina Panthers who they play on Saturday night at Lambeau Field. The Packers will look to continue their journey to clinch the number one seed in the NFC.
