The Green Bay Packers kept their playoff hopes alive on Monday Night with their win against the Rams. With a final score of 24-12, the Packers moved to 6-8 on the season. That record is good enough to keep them right on the heels of the NFC playoff race. Their updated playoff odds gradually keep increasing.
Packers’ Updated Playoff Odds After Monday Night Victory
After their victory against the Rams, the Packers currently have a 9% chance to make the playoffs according to the New York Times’ playoff simulator. However, if the Green Bay Packers win out they currently have a 65% chance to make the playoffs. Winning out will be the number one priority for the Packers this season. It doesn’t matter what any other team does first, if Green Bay doesn’t win out, they won’t get in the playoffs. However, the Packers WILL need to do some scoreboard watching the remainder of the season. The three main team will be the Seattle Seahawks, Washington Commanders, and New York Giants. Here are the three scenarios:
- Seattle Seahawks must lose one of their final three remaining games. Their final three games come against the Kansas City Chiefs, New York Jets, and Los Angeles Rams.
- Washington Commanders must lose two of their final three games. Their final three games come against the San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns, and Dallas Cowboys.
- If Washington doesn’t lose two of their final three games, Green Bay’s only other option is to have the New York Giants lose all three of their remaining games. Their final three games come against the Minnesota Vikings, Indianapolis Colts, and Philadelphia Eagles.
