The Green Bay Packers are building something special in this new era of football. Trading Aaron Rodgers just days before the 2023 NFL Draft came with a ton of scrutiny. However, two seasons and two playoff appearances later have fans optimistic.
That being said, many fans agree that Green Bay needs to take another step before they are considered Super Bowl contenders. One veteran wants to be here for that next step.
“This Feels Like Home” Packers Starter Doesn’t Want To Leave In Free Agency (Breaking Report)

There are many NFL players who are eagerly awaiting free agency. This is their chance to make a lot of money. Multiple suitors could be interested in them:
T.J. Slaton is not one of those players.
Slaton, a defensive tackle for the Green Bay Packers, has loved his time in the NFL’s smallest city. And when Slaton hits the free agent market in March, his No. 1 wish is to remain a Packer.
“I know a lot of guys get real excited about free agency,” Slaton said at the end of the season. “That’s not me. I’m not excited at all.
“I’d like to be here. This feels like home to me, but I’ve got no control over the contract or anything like that. I’ll let my agent do his thing and let the chips falls where they lie. But there’s no doubt, I would like to be here.”

The 6-foot-4, 330-pounder has 134 total tackles in 68 career regular season games, an average of 1.97 per game. Slaton has 67 solo tackles, 67 assisted tackles, two sacks and has never been part of a turnover play.
Slaton’s value to Green Bay goes well beyond the box score, though.
In the Packers’ 4-3 scheme this season, Slaton occupied the ‘A gap’ — between the guard and center — and was asked to disrupt the run game by taking on blockers. Slaton was also asked to occasionally penetrate into the backfield to pressure the quarterback by lining up over the guard’s inside shoulder in a “3-technique” alignment.

Here is a full breakdown of Slaton’s career stats:
