The Green Bay Packers are attempting to go into Philadelphia and be the second team ever to upset a seven seed in the playoffs. Coincidentally, the 2023 Green Bay team was the first to do it when they took down the second seeded Dallas Cowboys.
However, the success of Green Bay over the years creates for opportunities elsewhere.
Packers See AFC Team Actively Trying To Steal Major Piece Of Team (Report)
Jon-Eric Sullivan, vice president of player personnel for the Green Bay Packers, was asked by the New York Jets to interview for the general manager position. Sullivan has been with the Packers since 2003, when he interned as a scout.
During two decades, he worked his way up to area scout, director of college scouting, director of player personnel, and eventually vice president of player personnel.
However, now he is seeing a second team interested in his services:
On Friday, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Sullivan also has been requested by the Tennessee Titans to interview for their general manager position. The Titans recently fired their previous general manager, Ran Carthon, following a disappointing season that landed Tennessee the number one pick in the 2025 draft — which will be held in Green Bay.
The Titan’s GM search is currently being ran by Chad Brinker, the president of football operations for the team, who spent 2009 through 2022 with the Packers.
Brinker started off his career as a scouting intern and worked in the pro personnel department, ultimately filling the titles of assistant director of pro scouting, salary cap analyst and personnel/football administration executive from 2018-2022 before leaving for Tennessee as the Titans’ assistant general manager in 2023.
It is clear that Jon-Eric Sullivan is going to become a General Manager in the league in the very near future. Just depends on when.
With all of the links between Green Bay and Tennessee, it shouldn’t come as a surprise if the Titans pilfer some of the Packers’ front office talent, whether the position of general manager or a lower one.
