The Packers slipped past the Patriots on Sunday with a 27-24 overtime win. The Bears lost to the Giants on Sunday in a very sloppy game by both teams. With the Packers win and the Bears loss, an important record that the Bears have held for years might fall soon. With Sunday’s sin, the Packers tie the Bears in total franchise wins.

The Bears have had led the league in franchise wins for a long time. For 102 years the Bears have had more franchise wins than anyone else. That record may change hands very soon. The Bears and the Packers both have 785 total franchise wins. With it being just week 4, there is a good chance that the Packers overtake the Bears at some point this season. The Packers have been closing in on this record for the past decade and it looks like it will finally be broken.
When Will The Packers Overtake The Bears?
Next week has a good chance to make the Packers first in total franchise wins. The Bears face off against the Vikings who are 3-1 and a much better team than the Bears. The Packers play the New York Giants in London. While the Giants are 3-1 also, they have benefitted from some easier opponents and lucky wins. Regardless of whether this happens this week or in the following weeks, I expect the Packers to win more games than the Bears from here on out meaning they will overtake soon.
The Packers have a storied franchise and it looks as though they will have another record soon. This is also a record that the Packers should hold onto for awhile. The Bears look like a mess of a franchise and the Packers seem to be set up well for the future.
