Initial reports on Tucker Kraft’s knee injury in Thursday practice gave Packers fans a scare. Fortunately, it appears to have been a false alarm, based on an update from NFL insider Adam Schefter following tests done on Kraft’s knee:
Packers standout TE Tucker Kraft, who injured his left knee at Thursday’s practice, got “a little scare but all good” one source said after tests today.
Another source added, “I think he will be OK.” pic.twitter.com/KK3DQjO4sl

That’s a lot more encouraging than pre-test reports on the injury. “Hopefully he’ll be all right, but we’ll see how it goes,” was all OC Adam Stenavich could say after practice.
Whether or not he suits up Sunday in Cleveland, it now seems likely that Kraft avoided anything serious. That’s great news for a Packers receiver room already missing Jayden Reed and Christian Watson. It’s great news for fans, too, but the sudden roller coaster ride of an innocent Thursday afternoon has left some in need of recovery.
Green Bay backers awash in relief
The Packers just lost Jayden Reed, their closest thing to a WR1, indefinitely to a broken collarbone. A week later, losing one of the league’s best tight ends – and one of Green Bay’s few somewhat experienced pass catchers – would be too much to bear.
Although relieved, Packers faithful are still reeling.

“I don’t need that kind of stress,” another commented.
“Too late I already had a heart attack,” someone said.
With Kraft seemingly in the clear, questions have turned naturally to whether he will play against the Browns. While the Packers’ preseason depth chart has taken a hit, they probably don’t need their full complement of weapons to beat the Browns assuming the defense shows up. Of course, as they say, wild things can happen on “any given Sunday.”
For now, the Packers fans and fantasy players will wait for further updates on Kraft’s Week 3 status and, more importantly, in the weeks ahead.
