The Packers picked up the win on Monday Night against the Rams with some former legends in town. Andre Rison and Gilbert Brown were signing autographs and taking pictures at Stadium View before the game.

Andre Rison and Gilbert Brown will forever be remembered in Green Bay for their contributions to the team that was able to win a championship in Super Bowl XXXI. Both guys discussed their time in Green Bay, and what it’s like being back.

    Andre Rison

Andre Rison etched himself into Packers history in the Super Bowl despite not even playing a full year with the team. Rison hauled in a 54 yard touchdown from Brett Favre to score the game’s opening points. When asked about the play Rison gave a fitting answer.

“It was just another play,” Rison said.

Rison’s confidence was a great contributor to his success in the NFL. When asked about the love he gets from the fans, despite not playing in Green Bay very long, he opened up about his mindset and appreciation.

“Like my friend Michael Jordan, when I was playing I felt like I was the best,” said Rison. “When you put in the work on the field, and just worry about being the best, the love off the field is a reflection of the hard work I put in when I was playing.”

Rison signed autographs and took pictures with fans. He arrived to the scene wearing his former teammate, Antonio Freeman’s, jersey. Rison said he was paying homage to another Packers great.

    Gilbert Brown

Gilbert Brown also made the trip to Green Bay ahead of the Packers’ Monday Night Football matchup. Brown is a member of the Packers Hall of Fame and played ten seasons. Unlike Rison he spent his entire career in Green Bay. Brown shared where his Super Bowl win ranks in his career.

“It’s at the very top,” said Brown. “Professionally, football wise, there is nothing that can top that. There’s a lot of great players who don’t have a ring. I got one; I cherish that. I don’t even wear my ring, I just like to look at it, that’s it.”

Brown talked about his Super Bowl win is something he cherishes and will never forget. Another moment he said meant a lot to him was watching his teammate Leroy Butler go into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Gilbert Brown was a presenter at Butler’s Hall of Fame induction.

“It felt like we all made it,” Brown said.

Brown mentioned how it felt like their entire defense made it when LeRoy Butler was selected to the Hall of Fame. Butler was a leader of the Packers defense in their back-to-back Super Bowl appearances, and Brown felt like Butler’s induction meant a lot for the guys he played with.
