The Washington Commanders are the second team to bow down in front of Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers in the 2025 NFL regular season. The Packers gave Washington a rough welcome to Lambeau Field last Thursday, as they scored a 27-18 win.

Love passed for 292 yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions, while completing 19 of his 31 throws. Tucker Kraft emerged as the biggest star of the night in that contest, as the tight end posted a career-high 124 receiving yards to go along with a touchdown on six catches and seven targets.

Defensively, Green Bay stymied talented Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels, who went 24-of-42 for just 200 passing yards. Daniels threw for two touchdowns and had did not turn the ball over, but he was clearly taken out of his comfort zone by the Packers’ intense pass rush. He was sacked four times for a loss of 21 yards. Meanwhile, Washington’s run game was barely existent, with it producing just 51 rushing yards on 19 carries.

Following the game, Daniels summed up the quality of Green Bay’s dominant performance.

“They played better than us,” Daniels said. “Not really much (else) to say,” the former LSU  Tigers star signal caller and 2024 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, per the Associated Press (h/t ESPN).

The Commanders recorded just 230 total yards, while the Packers put up 404. Green Bay went 3-for-4 in the red zone, and if there’s one gripe about the winning team’s performance, it’s about the fact that the Packers had 10 penalties for 77 yards.

Green Bay will put its clean record on the line in Week 3 against the Cleveland Browns on the road.
