Davante Adams has some defenders, evidently
Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams’ frustrations have been mounting this season. They boiled over Monday night following the Raiders’ narrow defeat to their divisional rival, the Kansas City Chiefs. Adams missed two late opportunities on a final drive that fell short, sending the Raiders to a 1-4 record. A camera caught Adams shoving a cameraperson to the ground before Adams walked into the tunnel after the game. Following the shove, Adams and his former colleague defended the behavior.
There’s a nuance on this issue, apparently
Davante Adams offered a half-hearted apology to the cameraman in the locker room. According to Frank Schwab of Yahoo.com, Adams said in an interview following the shove that he reacted in that way in part before the cameraman’s actions:
“Before I answer anything else, I want to apologize to the guy — some guy running off the field, and he ran, jumped in front of me when we’re coming off the field and I bumped into him, kind of pushed him and I think he ended up on the ground,” Adams said. “I wanted to say sorry to him for that. That was frustration mixed with him running, literally running in front of me, and I shouldn’t have responded that way. But that’s how I initially responded so I want to apologize to him for that.”
That’s a condescending way for the All-Pro athlete to respond to his physical violence. Adams blamed the man for being at fault for happening to be in front of Adams.
A Packers captain stands up for Davante Adams
Packers safety and team captain Adrian Amos tweeted not long after the footage. Amos appeared to dismiss Adams’ actions.
Yea it’s wrong but relax he ain’t beat dude up or nothing, yaw so dramatic lmao

That’s a poor response by Amos defending abusive behavior short of a full assault. Amos should apologize to the cameraman as well for his statement. There’s no defense for how Adams handled the incident Monday night. The cameraman was doing his job. Adams could have been patient and waited a few seconds as the cameraperson made their way across. It’s disappointing that Amos felt the need to Tweet that out to the world. He just could have stayed silent. Now he’s making himself and the league look worse after excusing that behavior.
