The Green Bay Packers have one of the best secondaries in the league led by corner Jaire Alexander. Jaire had his 5th year exercised from his rookie deal. That means at the end of this year he’ll be looking for a new contract to stay with the Packers. Jaire’s agents are probably starting negotiations at what Denzel Ward for the browns just signed at; 5 years 100.5 million and 71.25 million guaranteed.

Why is Jaire worth that?
Jaire has been nothing short of an All-Pro since he entered the league in the same year as Ward. Since coming into the league in the same draft as Ward, Alexander has five interceptions and 33 pass breakups. He has given up a passer rating of just 84 against him and has committed only seven penalties in his career.
The Jaire Alexander INT is just as absurd on All-22 as you’d think it was.
Quarters coverage. Jaire lined up at top of the screen.
Watch him read that throw and track it all the way across the field. That’s an All-Pro play. pic.twitter.com/l2eR0Q8JRp

Will the Packers Pay Jaire?
The Packers desperately need to pay Alexander. I think all of us Packer fans remember how difficult it was for the Packers to roll out competent secondaires when they were playing with; Ladarius Gunter, Quinten Rollins, and Demarius Randell. It’s not often you get an All-Pro like Jaire to fall into your lap and the Packers shouldn’t waste the opportunity.

Contract Prediction
In my opinion, Jaire is a better corner than Ward. They are however very close stat-wise and we should see a contract sit close to Wards.
Prediction:
5 years 105 million 75 million guaranteed.
