The Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears have played some entertaining football against each other in the 2025 NFL season. Their two matches in the regular season both had incredible endings, giving a major spark to the ever-bitter rivalry between the two proud NFC North Division franchises.
A big reason for that was the rise of Chicago’s offense, with Ben Johnson arriving in Windy City to be the team’s head coach. But credit should also go to offensive coordinator Declan Doyle. Even though he was not doing the playcalling for Chicago in 2025, he had a big impact on the Bears’ offense that averaged 25.7 points per game.
Doyle, however, is no longer with the Bears, having accepted a job as the Baltimore Ravens’ offensive coordinator.
Packers rival TE reacts to coaching loss
For Chicago tight end Cole Kmet, Doyle’s departure is a “big loss.”
“Yeah, it’s obviously a big loss for us losing Declan, EB, two great coaches and guys that provided a lot of value to the offensive side of the ball this year,” Kmet said during a recent appearance on 104.3 The Score.
“I know even though Declan doesn’t call the plays for us, the amount of work that he did on the offensive side of the football was immense and you could see that in day-to-day in practices and I’m sure it took a lot off of Ben throughout the week for his duties as the head coach.”
As it relates to the Packers, perhaps they can see a change in how Chicago approaches its attack the next time they share the field
