With the recent signing of Aaron Jones for him to stay in Green Bay, the writing was on the wall for fellow teammate Jamaal Williams. After the team drafted AJ Dillon in last year’s draft, there was a lot of speculation about both Jones and Williams becoming free agents this offseason. All that changed when the Packers signed Aaron Jones to an extension. Williams will officially be heading into free agency this offseason, and the team will move on with Jones and AJ Dillon.
On Monday morning, Williams posted on Instagram, Saying goodbye to Green Bay. “Thank you Green Bay for accepting me and letting me grow into the man I am today.” Williams mentions in the post. “I’m looking forward to what’s ahead and excited to grind…nothing but love for GB its been real.”

Williams was drafted in the fourth round in the 2017 draft by Green Bay. He ends his tenure in Green Bay with 622 total touches, 1,985 yards rushing, 961 yards receiving and 18 total touchdowns. He averaged four yards a carry, and just under eight yards per reception. He had a 78% completion percentage, and has never fumbled the football. He’ll be a great addition for a team looking for that versatile running back, who’s capable of a bell cow workload.
