Green Bay Packers rookie linebacker Quay Walker made a terrible mistake (again). Everyone is well-aware that he was ejected in the Lions Packers game, ending Green Bay’s season, for shoving an athletic trainer. This was, of course, a grievous error in judgment, especially considering Walker had been ejected for a similar offense earlier in the season against Buffalo. The backlash Walker received from fans on social media was intense, causing the rookie linebacker to delete his accounts after posting a heartfelt apology. Former Packers linebacker Nick Barnett, while not excusing Walker’s actions, called out fans for their overly harsh comments toward him.
Nick Barnett Calls Out Fans Over Quay Walker Lions Packers Ejection
While there has been a vocal portion of the Packers fandom that has said very negative things to and towards Walker on social media following the game, there are others who, while not excusing his actions, have stated their support for him and his place on the team. Former Packers linebacker Nick Barnett is one of those people:
Sad!! Bullies!!! Talk a lot of stuff on the internet when a guy is down!!! Packers fans let’s tans up and show support to this young man!! https://t.co/JE91JQmnds

Again, no one is excusing Quay Walker’s poor, poor behavior at the conclusion of Lions Packers. However, he is on this team and obviously needs some guidance and support as he matures as a person and as a player.
