The Packers‘ defense made a statement Sunday night in Seattle.
Rookie linebacker Edgerrin Cooper announced his presence, with authority, intercepting a fourth quarter Sam Howell pass and returning it 20 yards, on top of posting five tackles, one sack, and two tackles for loss with two pass breakups in just 34 snaps.
However, the Packers’ defense is still a bit banged up, and may be without another key playmaker for at least one more game.
According to Packers head coach Matt LaFleur, linebacker Quay Walker is considered “week-to-week” after suffering an ankle injury on Sunday night.
The Packers don’t play until Monday night against the New Orleans Saints, at Lambeau Field, so Green Bay has at least an extra day before needing to make any decisions on Walker’s availability.
So far this season, Walker has produced 102 total tackles with 2.5 sacks as a key contributor along the Packers’ suddenly dominant front seven.
