It is still very early in their offseason, but the Green Bay Packers surely have their eyes set already on having a huge bounce-back campaign in the 2026 NFL campaign after the painful way their 2025 season concluded.
Of course, Green Bay wasted a double-digit lead in the NFC Wild Card Round versus Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears, leading to their early exit from the playoffs.
Although the Bears were eventually knocked out of the postseason with a loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the following round, it was tough for Green Bay and its fans to see Chicago not just win the NFC North Division crown but also go a step further in the playoffs than the Packers.
One good thing about Green Bay is that it is pretty much set at the quarterback position, with Jordan Love expected to lead them in 2026 and beyond.
As for the depth behind Love, Green Bay recently made a move to address it.
Packers add a former Syracuse star to their quarterback room
As the offseason begins for Green Bay, the team signed quarterback Kyle McCord, who was formerly a sixth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles.
That move caught the attentionof former NFL head coach Jon Gruden.
“Let’s goo!! @kylemccord16,” the 62-year-old Gruden said.
McCord has yet to see action in an NFL game, but during his final year in college, he led the nation with 4,779 passing yards to go with 34 touchdowns and 12 interceptions with the Syracuse Orange.
Before his stint with Syracuse, McCord spent three years with the Ohio State Buckeyes.
