The Green Bay Packers season is over and they are looking toward 2023. The biggest off-season event every year is the NFL Draft that at the end of April. It’ll be no different this year, and the Packers hold the 15th pick in the first round. They will likely have a few extra picks this year as well based on 2022 off-season departures.
Projecting The Packers 2023 Compensatory Draft Picks
Over The Cap typically does a great job of projecting the picks each team could receive using its cancellation chart. This year the Packers will likely receive picks for two off-season departures in 2022. Over The Cap projects that Green Bay will receive a fifth-round compensatory pick for losing Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who signed with the Kansas City Chiefs. Green Bay also lost offensive lineman Lucas Patrick, who signed with the Chicago Bears, but Over The Cap projects this to be canceled out by the signing of defensive lineman Jarran Reed. Lastly, the Packers are projected to receive a seventh-rounder due to losing inside linebacker Oren Burks, who was a core special teams player in Green Bay before signing with the San Francisco 49ers last spring.
It must be noted that the Packers won’t receive a compensatory pick for wide receiver Davante Adams as that was in the form of a trade. Receiving a fifth and seventh round pick may not completely turn the NFL draft upside-down for Green Bay, however, it will add depth picks that the Packers have been extremely successful with in the past. A perfect example is wide receiver Romeo Doubs who was selected by the Packers in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL draft.

Daubs dropped a key pass against the lions that cost the game. A perfect dime throw between two defenders from Rodgers. I’m sick of all the smack being talked about Rodgers. That man still drops dimes. I hope Daubs becomes a great # 2 receiver behind Watson.
