Should Packers fans pump the brakes on Jordan Love before Week 1?
While the Green Bay Packers and New York Jets haven’t agreed to a deal involving quarterback Aaron Rodgers just yet, the Packers are ready to usher in a new era at the position.
Green Bay plans on making former first-round pick Jordan Love the starter for the 2023 NFL season, giving the former Utah State standout a fair shot. The Packers will have a decision to make on Love’s fifth-year option and getting him a look as a starter will help them in with a long-term decision.
Jordan Love has played sparingly in Green Bay so far, backing up Aaron Rodgers since 2020. He has started in one game and has appeared in more including looking good in a loss at Philadelphia this past season. While many want to believe in the young quarterback, one former offensive lineman is saying pump the brakes a little bit.
In a response to Peter Bukowski’s tweet showing a really nice throw that Love made in the preseason, Bryan Bulaga hinted that we should pump the brakes a little bit on a preseason throw:
What’s silly?A good throw? Haha listen if we are going to say how good a throw was in preseason let’s make that known(which you should).Make these posts in week 7 when GB is 5-2 etc before you start drooling over a kid that legitimately has 1.25 games of real ball.

Bulaga’s point is that Love doesn’t have a lot of experience right now, so let’s wait until he gets some more action. He’d rather see these posts later in the season if Love is having success.
And we tend to agree with him. Let’s just hope the Packers are making the right call with Jordan Love.
