The Packers own the 15th overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft. There are some major areas of need and the first round of the draft is where you can often find the next solid piece of the team. Last season, the Packers drafted Quay Walker and Devote Wyatt who looks to be staples of the defense for years to come. Everyone has thoughts on where the Packers should go. Here is a Packers mock draft roundup.
Packers Mock Draft Roundup: Offense
Many think the Packers should focus on the offensive side of the ball. Pro Football Network has the Packers thinking more long-term taking OT Anton Harrison out of Oklahoma. While tackle is not an immediate need, it could be down the road, and taking a top tackle prospect would be great for development. Sports Illustrated has them taking TE Michael Mayer out of Notre Dame. The Packers need more help from the tight end position and many think Mayer is the top tight end in the class. Finally, it wouldn’t be a Packers mock draft without a WR. The Draft Network has the Packers taking Jaxon Smith-Njigba out of Ohio State.
Onto The Defense
The defense still has some needs and there is a lot of talent on that side of the ball. The Athletic has the Packers trading back to no. 18 and taking Luke Van Ness out of Iowa. The Packers need some edge depth and Van Ness led a stellar Iowa defense. Dairyland Express has the Packers thinking an interior lineman taking Bryan Bresee out of Clemson. Bresee would be a great piece to have in the defensive line rotation and would hopefully help in the run defense.
