Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur is not the only LaFleur head coaching an NFL team anymore.
The Arizona Cardinals announced on Sunday that they were hiring Mike LaFleur to be their next head coach.
Before getting the job for the NFC West franchise, Mike was an offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams from the 2023 NFL season to the 2025 campaign. Prior to that, he served as the offensive coordinator for the New York Jets from 2021 to 2022.
“I couldn’t be more fired up to become the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals and am beyond grateful to (owner) Michael (Bidwill) and (GM) Monti (Ossenfort) for this opportunity,” Mike said (via the Cards’ official website).
“Having competed against them in the NFC so many times in recent years, I know the type of talent and toughness the team has and cannot wait to get to Arizona to hit the ground running.”
Old video of Packers’ LaFleur talking about his brother resurfaces on social media
Following the news of Mike landing a job with the Cardinals, an old video of Matt talking about his younger brother resurfaced on X, formerly Twitter.
The video appears to be recorded when Mike was still with the Jets.
At the time, Matt already believed that his brother was going to go places in the NFL.
“And I think he’s another guy that I think he’s got a really bright future in front of him,” Matt said in the clip.
“I think he’s just, he’s about the right things. I think he’s, number one, he’s a good person. And that’s always important to me at least. And he puts the work in and he invests in his players. And I think he’s got a really bright mind. I think we’ve all been fortunate to learn from some of the best in the business.”

Interestingly enough, Mike takes over the job left by Jonathan Gannon, who is now the defensive coordinator for the Packers.
