Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur may not admit it, but there’s got to be some sweetness in beating the Chicago Bears on Sunday — particularly Ben Johnson.
When Johnson was introduced as the Bears’ new head coach in January, he openly said he loved beating LaFleur twice. Before he joined Chicago, Johnson was the offensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions, who went 2-0 in the 2024 NFL season against Green Bay.
After LaFleur steered his team to a 28-21 win over Johnson’s Bears, he met Johnson on the field for a very quick greeting — if you can even call it that.

LaFleur had last laugh in Week 14 Packers-Bears clash

If it were another head coach, perhaps LaFleur would have at least spent several seconds exchanging some pleasantries. But certainly not to Johnson, whose Bears slid down to the No. 2 spot in the NFC North standings following the loss. Green Bay is back to the top of the division with a 9-3-1 record, while Chicago is behind the Packers with a 9-4 slate.
Green Bay and Chicago are bitter NFC North rivals to begin with, but LaFleur just added a little bit more spice to it with what he did following the contest.
The Packers sealed the victory with a highlight play from cornerback Keisean Nixon, who intercepted Bears quarterback Caleb Williams in the end zone late in the fourth period.
Green Bay was led by quarterback Jordan Love, who collected 234 passing yards and three touchdowns against an interception on 17-of-25 pass completions, while running back Josh Jacobs gathered 86 rushing yards and the game-winning touchdown on 20 carries.
Green Bay and Chicago will meet each other again in two weeks with a Week 16 showdown at Soldier Field in Chicago.
