Green Bay Packers star running back Josh Jacobs left little doubt that he’s already dialed in on the 2025 NFL season.
The book was barely closed on the Packers’ loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Wild Card round on Sunday afternoon, when Jacobs unloaded to reporters his mindset and goals for next season.
“All those games, we were right there,” Jacobs told reporters, of the Packers’ five regular-season losses to the Lions, Vikings, and Eagles. “My biggest message this offseason—from the coaches to the players—is how do we take that step? We figure out how to take that step, ain’t nobody gonna be able to f–k with us in this league.”
In addition to being focused on how he can elevate his own game next season, Jacobs plans to actively recruit top free agents to Green Bay, in hopes of taking the next steps towards winning the first Super Bowl of his career.
“I know I’m going to try and get some guys in here. Most definitely that,” Jacobs told reporters.
One of those free agents could be Cincinnati Bengals superstar Tee Higgins, who would instantly elevate quarterback Jordan Love’s supporting cast and the Packers’ passing game.
Jacobs made an instant impact on the Packers this season, rushing for 1,329 yards and a career-high 15 touchdowns. However, as injuries besieged the receiving corps, it became evident that the Packers need to make some bold moves this offseason to keep building around the foundation of Love, Jacobs, and tight end Tucker Kraft.
