Aaron Rodgers had a vintage performance of sorts in Week 15’s edition of Monday Night Football, as the future Pro Football Hall of Famer led the Pittsburgh Steelers to a 28-15 victory in Pittsburgh over the visiting Miami Dolphins.
But in the eyes of former Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Joe Barry, Rodgers is more than just a surefire first-ballot Hall of Famer. To him, Rodgers is the greatest to ever play the game.
Barry made sure to let Rodgers know that after the game.

Former #Packers defensive coordinator Joe Barry met up with Aaron Rodgers after tonight’s game. Broadcast caught the convo.
Barry to Rodgers: “You’re the GOAT. I mean that. Greatest of all time.”
Aaron Rodgers shone in Week 15 Steelers win against Miami
The 42-year-old Rodgers played better than his Miami counterpart, the much-younger Tua Tagovailoa. Rodgers went 23/27 for 224 passing yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions, while Tagovailoa passed for 253 yards and two touchdowns with an interception on 22/28 pass completions.
Also, following the game, Rodgers said that he’s thrilled by the fact that he’s playing meaningful football again during this time of the year.
“It’s been a while since I’ve been a part of stuff like this,” said Rodgers, per the Associated Press (h/t ESPN). “Nothing changes. It’s just, I feel real comfortable in this environment.”
Barry should be familiar with Rodgers’ abilities, having witnessed it first hand during games and practices during their time together with Green Bay.
Barry was fired by Green Bay in January of 2024 as the Packers defensive coordinator before getting hired by Miami to be the team’s linebackers coach/run game coordinator.
