“Bring Him Back!” Packers’ Jeff Hafley See’s Former Player Surface (Report)

The Green Bay Packers saw a massive improvement on defense from 2023 to 2024.  Defensive Coordinator Jeff Hafley came in and completely changed the culture on that side of the ball for Green Bay.

As it turns out, one former starter could rejoin this new culture.

Green Bay Packers cornerback hasn’t been a major concern in recent years, but it now appears to be:

Jaire Alexander held down the CB1 spot for the Packers for most of his seven-year career, but injuries have held him out for the majority of the last two seasons. Meanwhile Eric Stokes, Green Bay’s CB2, is now a free agent.

The Packers will likely be players for a corner in free agency regardless of whether Alexander stays, gets traded, or gets cut. Could a reunion be on the horizon with a player the Packers once traded to the Buffalo Bills?

Rasul Douglas had a great 2023 season, prompting the Super Bowl-contending Bills to acquire him at the trade deadline, but he slumped in Buffalo in 2024.

Now that Douglas is back on the market, Pro Football Focus’ Mason Cameron believes the Packers are the top “landing spot” for the eight-year veteran and former Super Bowl champion.

“The Packers traded Douglas to the Bills in 2023, but after he endured a fair share of struggles in 2024, a return to Green Bay would be a natural outcome this offseason,” Cameron wrote.

“Douglas produced a 71.0-plus PFF coverage grade in each season with the Packers. With Eric Stokes set to become a free agent and Jaire Alexander having missed the better part of the past two seasons, a reunion with Douglas makes sense.”
