The Green Bay Packers are 4 days away from facing their NFC Rival the Minnesota Vikings. Anticipating all of the news surrounding the team, there is one key player who could be out in Week 1. On Wednesday, Matt Lafleur offered more clarity on the star wide receivers injury status.
Allen Lazard Injury:
Allen Lazard is on the roster as the #1 wide receiver for the Packers. Unfortunately, the team may need the other two veteran wide receivers Sammy Watkins and Randall Cobb to step up. Luckily, they have young rookies that can help lead the team to victory as well. Those young receivers consists of Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson and Samori Toure. The 4-time NFL MVP does have the veteran Amari Rodgers along side of him with some experience.
Allen Lazard had already been out of practice for a week due to injury, trying to get back on the field. On Monday, Lafleur talked to the media about his injury stating, “Allen’s doing better, but we’ll see as the week progresses where he’s at,” Packers head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters before practice on September 5th.
Most Packers fans were hoping for good news before Week 1, but according to head coach Matt Lafleur, Lazard will not practice on Wednesday! Rob Demovsky tweeted early Wednesday afternoon…

Packers Uncertainty Going Into Week 1
There is still uncertainty as to if Allen Lazard hurt his foot or ankle. Being that the Packers play a division rival on Sunday. It would most certainly help if Allen Lazard could suit up. The Green Bay Packers are now without Davante Adams, who was the top receiver for Aaron Rodgers from 2014-2021.
Last season, Allen Lazard caught 8 touchdown passes for 513 yards. Seeing what the Packers will be able to accomplish, possibly with only two veteran wide receivers, is something that is going to be watched closely in Week 1.
The first game is just a few short days away. Based on reports from Matt Lafleur, it is very possible that the #1 wide receiver for Green Bay may not hit the field at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Allen Lazard is crucial to the team’s success in 2022 as many Green Bay fans are aware of. Hopefully, the veteran wide receiver heals up sooner than he is expected to.
Green Bay will play the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, September 11th at 4:25 pm ET
