If you watched the Sunday game between the Packers and Dolphins, you probably heard the announcers mention about the Packers’ December dominance. With their 26-20 win over Miami, the Packers have now won 15 straight games played in December. In fact, the team has not lost a December game during Matt LaFleur’s tenure as head coach.

The Packers last loss in December occurred on December 30, 2018. The Pack lost 31-0 to the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field.

The Packers won three straight December games this year with wins over Chicago (28-19), the Rams (24-12) and the Dolphins (26-20). The last time they won five games in a December was in 2019.

The Packers have December dominance since 1966

If we look at stats all the way back to 1966, the start of the Super Bowl era, the Packers still reign supreme in December. From 1966 to today, Green Bay is the only team to have a winning percentage over .600 in December games. The Pack is 134-77-2 (.634 winning percentage) in games in December. They are one of five teams whose winning percentage in December in the Super Bowl era is above .580. The others: San Francisco (.599), Pittsburgh (.586), Baltimore (.584) and Kansas City (.581).

Favre or Rodgers? Which era has better December record?

You might be wondering, during which tenure of Packers QBs, Brett Favre, or Aaron Rodgers, has the Packers had a better December record? In the Brett Favre era (1992-2007), the Packers were 49-18 (a winning percentage of .731). In the Aaron Rodgers era (2008-2022), the Packers were 45-17 (.726 winning percentage).
