As many fans of the Green Bay Packers are aware, there is a rumor circulating that Jordan Love will request a trade unless he is the starter next season. To be clear, this was not a rumor started by Love or anyone within his inner circle. It was a rumor started by Jason Wilde, who covers the Packers, on an ESPN Milwaukee’s “Homer and Tony Show.” The rumor was spread even further on Tuesday when NFL insider Jordan Schultz told The Pat McAfee Show that he believed Love would ask for a trade as well. One Packers Hall of Famer, though, does not believe the rumors, nor does he give much thought to these insiders.
Gilbert Brown Has Strong Words Regarding the Jordan Love Rumors
Green Bay Packers Hall of Famer and Super Bowl Champion does a podcast called “The Graveyard Shift with Gilbert Brown.” Hosted by Wisconsin Sports Heroics, Brown and two others discussed the rumors surrounding Jordan Love.
“Who started that rumor?” Brown asked. When he was told Jason Wilde, Brown responded, “Well of course HE did! Look, this is nothing more than an attempt to get some clicks or whatever. The thing is, Jordan Love is a great athlete, he’s a good quarterback. But he’s got to wait his turn.”
Brown and other podcast hosts discussed how the Packers’ quarterback situation should be a source of pride rather than one of division. How many teams can boast of having a sure-fire Hall of Fame quarterback AND one that could be a really good starter in the NFL? Not many. Instead of worrying about the future at quarterback, the Packers and their fans should be excited. It is bright either way.
