Former Green Bay Packers superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers might have just played his final game in the NFL, as he and the Pittsburgh Steelers were eliminated from Super Bowl contention in a loss in the AFC Divisional Round last Monday at the hands of CJ Stroud and the Houston Texans.
If that was really it for the four-time NFL Most Valuable Player, Rodgers’ legacy will still be safe in the eyes of his former teammate in Green Bay and ex-NFL wide receiver Greg Jennings.
Ex-Packers wide receiver speaks up on Rodgers’ legacy
Here’s what Jennings said of Rodgers during a recent episode of First Things First.
“One of the best quarterbacks to ever do it. And it’s hard, it’s easy for us to throw out the numbers and understand where he falls. And he’s not top five in every single category. He’s top five in a lot of them. And number one in passer ratio. It is, for me, because of the personal relationship and experience that I have in watching quarterbacks throw, there is no one that has thrown the ball the way he throws the ball.”
Jennings, who won a Super Bowl with Rodgers during their time in Green Bay, shared how the quarterback was able to change the way he played the game by simply being so accurate with the ball.
Added Jennings:
“He will forever be remembered as one of the best to ever sling it, an innovator in terms of you bet not sub or we get in the free play. And as receivers, it was like we’re going – we’re going to get a touchdown.
Always on your toes, challenging you to be better. Like, it was – he’s going to go down as one of the best. Even though he doesn’t have all the rings that we feel like he could have had, you will still regard him as ‘Man. He kind of reminds me of Aaron Rodgers.'”
Whether Rodgers decide to continue his career or retire, there is no denying the impact he’s made on the game, the league, his teammates and everyone who saw him play, especially during his prime years.
In the 2025 campaign, the 42-year-old Rodgers passed for 3.322 yards and 24 touchdowns against seven interceptions.
