Finally, the day has come, the news that all Packers fans have been waiting for. Aaron Rodgers has stated that he intends on playing for the New York Jets in 2023. He gives the Packers all the love and says he has no hard feelings. Now that Rodgers is not the starting QB in Green Bay, the Packers look to open a new era. Packer fans have been blessed (some might say spoiled) with over 30 years of greatness at the quarterback position. So, since Rodgers is no longer here, Packer fans say their goodbyes and thank you to AR12.
Where It All Started
In the 2005 NFL draft, the Green Bay Packers selected Rodgers as the 24th overall pick. The Green and Gold already had future hall of fame QB Brett Favre, which was a big shock at the time why they were drafting a QB in the first round. Immediately Aaron was criticized by Packer fans, which would later motivate him. Rodgers sat behind Favre for three years before the Packers committed to Aaron in 2008. For 14 years as a starting QB in Green Bay, the rest is history.
A New Beginning In GB
While Aaron passes the torch to a new era, Packer fans appreciate everything he has done for the team and town. Jordan Love will now have the pressure of being the starting quarterback and becoming the face of the team and the city of Green Bay. Love has shown flashes and progress in pre-season and some regular-season action. Jordan has had a front-row seat to watch one of the best to sling it. Now is Jordan Love’s time to show the NFL what he’s got.
Gone But Never Forgotten
2010 Super Bowl Champion, 4X NFL MVP (2011,2014,2020,2021), Hail Marys, and clutch moments. Rodgers had kept Green Bay relevant even after we thought it was all over when Favre left. Everywhere you drive in Wisconsin, you’d see Rodger’s face on a billboard and anywhere you walked in Green Bay. Rodgers had a remarkable career in Green Bay, along with some of the most extraordinary throws ever by a quarterback. Some Packer fans could say this is something we all wanted to happen. But at the end of the day, we, as Packer Nation, look back and realize this is a day we were never truly prepared for. Packer fans will always root for our team but hope to see him succeed. Thank you, A-Rod. (Also, thank you for owning the Chicago Bears)
