“Someone Familiar” Packers’ GM Brian Gutekunst Makes Big Free Agency Statement Before Eagles Contest
According to Green Bay insider Tom Silverstein:
LaFleur said that GM Brian Gutekunst is looking to see if there are some free agent players who can help them since they potentially have two spots on the 53-man roster (Alexander and Watson).
Likely would have to be someone who has played with them or in their system.
The first thought would be to address the deep threat in Green Bay’s passing game that they lost when Watson went down with an injury. However, as Ken Ingalls pointed out, Green Bay will need to hurry:
It would be interesting to see what kind of names Gutekunst could land at this point in the season, but one thing is clear, they’re open to adding to their roster before the playoffs start.
Green Bay will take on the Philadelphia Eagles from Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday. Green Bay will look to upset the two seed, two post-seasons in a row.
If Green Bay wins, it will set up a third meeting against the Detroit Lions.
