Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst let Aaron Rodgers go in 2023 suggesting that A-Rod is no longer the effective QB they used to have.

Rodgers blamed the GM for his exit from his team of 18 years and it has been three seasons since then.
What does Gutekunst think of Rodgers now? Different from what the media suggests two years ago. He thinks the four-time MVP is a great catch for his new team Pittsburgh Steelers.
“Excited for him,” Gutekunst told reporters on Tuesday.
“Obviously a player of his caliber you want to see keep playing. It’ll be really interesting as far as what he does for that football team.”

He ended the take by saying that the team is more occupied by their preparations for the NFL season.
“For us, We’re more focused on us.”
What did Aaron Rodgers said about Gutekunst?
The separation was not smooth between Gutekunst and Rodgers. He thought the former is the only one among all team executives who did not want him to return based on the way he beat around the bushes over his standing with the team.
It allegedly started when the Packers traded up to get Jordan Love, their current QB1 who has been consistent in saying that Rodgers guided him earnestly.
Then, Rodgers heard that Gutekunst was allegedly talking to other teams to get him traded. He also had a problem with communications.

Gutekunst said they could not get a hold of Rodgers but the latter called it a lie.
“Did Brian text me more than I texted him? Yeah, but did I ghost him? No,” Rodgers said in May of 2023, a month after he was traded to the New York Jets.
“I texted him back. There was back-and-forths that we had and so this is the story you wanna go with? You’re gonna stand on this hill of austerity and say that arguably in the conversation of the best player in your franchise history, you’re gonna say I couldn’t get a hold of him and that’s why we had to move on?”
