Aaron Rodgers has signed one of the richest contracts in NFL history, at least on a per year basis. When he signed the deal, many fans were concerned that the contract would mean that the Packers would not be able to sign other players that they needed. Indeed, since signing the contract, Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling have found different homes. The Packers are in desperate need of improvement at the wide receiver position if they are to compete for a Super Bowl. One former teammate of Aaron Rodgers, Brandon Bostick, stated that if he were Rodgers, he’d either retire or give back some money.
Man if I was 12 I would think about retiring again or give some money back. Dude need weapons to throw to #packers

Should Aaron Rodgers Take Less Money?
In short, the answer to this question is an emphatic “no.” For one thing, the deal is done. It is far too early to even consider a new deal. With quarterback being the most important position on the field, and with Aaron Rodgers being the two-time defending MVP, locking him up was the number one priority.
Secondly, whether or not Rodgers took less money was not going to effect if Davante Adams or MVS returned to Green Bay. As Adams stated, he wanted to play in a place where his grandparents could come and watch him play. His was his life-long dream to be a Raider. The Packers offered him more money than the Raiders, but he turned it down. Adams was never coming back, regardless of what Rodgers was paid. MVS is getting up to $10 million a year from the Chiefs. Most Packers fans, on social media at least, felt like this was too much. The Packers were interested in bringing MVS back, but obviously felt the same about the salary request.
What Next at Wide Receiver?
There are still plenty of wide receivers out there on the trade market and in free agency. Additionally, the Packers have four picks in the top 60 of the NFL Draft. Do not be surprised if Green Bay signs/trades for one and uses a first round pick on another.
