Kingsley Keke was a fifth-round selection of the Packers in 2019. Keke was released by Green Bay in January. He was claimed off waivers by the Houston Texans but was released shortly after. Last season, he had 2.5 sacks and 20 tackles. He has 47 tackles and 6.5 sacks so far in his three-year career.
Per report from Pro Football Network’s Aaron Wilson, the Cardinals are signing former Packers and Texans defensive tackle Kingsley Keke, 25. Cardinals needed more veteran depth up front to pair with Rashard Lawrence and Leki Fotu.
At the time, the cut came as a bit of a surprise from Green Bay, however there seemed to be extenuating circumstances that led to the cut. Following a disagreement with coaching staff about the practice squad (coming off a concussion injury and COVID in consecutive weeks) the Packers and Keke didn’t see eye to eye about his role on the team. After bouncing around in Houston, he gets a fresh start in Arizona.
