Packers fans want to keep a speedy return man

The Green Bay Packers’ special teams were much better after the team released wide receiver Amari Rodgers midseason. It was due to cornerback Keisean Nixon flipping field position on kick and punt returns for the Packers that the team turned around their season and came within a quarter of reaching the playoffs.

Nixon signed a one-year contract with the Packers last offseason. Nixon is set to become an unrestricted free agent in a few days as the team has not signed the 25-year-old return specialist for next season. He recently Tweeted an emoji of an hourglass on his timeline. The picture appears to reference the Packers’ time to sign Nixon for next season or beyond is quickly running out.

    Fans react on social media

Packers fans quickly fell in love with Nixon on the field and off last season. Nixon was flashy on the field. He also showed his personality as he took jabs at a Packers’ rival, such as Minnesota Vikings return man Kene Nwangwu. Packers Fans seem nervous that Nixon might not be in Green Bay next season. Here are the best takes of Nixon warning the Packers’ management about their time running out to sign him.

The Packers letting go their best returner in over a decade would be insane https://t.co/TBCpf8ito2

Do we need to start a go fund me for the packers to pull their head out of their asses and sign this man? Mentality, locker room presence and elite SP talent. This is the perfect example of who you pay. I’m going to be pissed if he leaves @Pack_Daddy @packers_access https://t.co/y8sV97MqRW

Can we pay the man already @packers??? Can’t let my jersey go to waste!! https://t.co/JgDx7eBegf
