The Green Bay Packers may be a few pieces away from becoming a championship caliber team, however, they’re certainly on the right track. Green Bay improved their win total from 9 to 11 this season and certainly improved their defensive play.
The attention their team got has been noticed by at least one other organization.
“Are You Kidding Me?” Packers Fans React To Coach Interviewing For New Team (Report)
According to multiple sources:
A source confirmed Wednesday that Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley will interview with the New York Jets:
Hafley took over the Packers defense this year after four years as the head coach at Boston College and guided it to its best statistical finish since the Super Bowl year in 2010. The defense improved from No. 17 in coordinator Joe Barry’s last season to No. 5 this year.
When coach Matt LaFleur hired Hafley, he knew that it was likely Hafley would draw interest for head-coaching jobs in the NFL, but he didn’t know how quickly. He hired Hafley with the hope the former NFL assistant could turn the defense around and get the Packers in a position to compete for a Super Bowl.
The defense improved greatly under Hafley as the year went on, going from 21st ranked in yards and 14th ranked in points allowed after five games to fifth and sixth, respectively.
Hafley was able to do it despite not having his top cornerback, Jaire Alexander, for most of the season and not as much pass rush success from his front four as he anticipated.
Of course, Green Bay fans had something to say about this:

We will trade him for a few 1st round draft picks, Tae, and Wilson. 💅

Well tell the #Jets to keep their greasy, dirty, stinky paws off our coordinator.
Quit trying to be Green Bay.

Do the Jets have any idea what they’re doing?
