The Green Bay Packers posted a statement win on Monday Night Football. A New Orleans Saints team dealing with a plethora of injuries came into Lambeau Field and were out matched from the very start.
Green Bay jumped out to a 21-0 halftime lead before shutting out the Saints 34-0. It was the first shut out of the season for any team.
However, wide receiver Christian Watson was unable to finish the game due to a knee injury. Today we got an update.
“Are You Serious?!” Packers Fans Erupt Over Christian Watson Injury News Following Win Over Saints
According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky:
Matt LaFleur said the tests came back positive on WR Christian Watson’s left knee.
“We got good news on him. It’s more just a bruise.”
LaFleur said Watson could potentially play Sunday at Minnesota depending on how he’s able to practice this week.
During Monday Night’s 34-0 win over the New Orleans Saints at Lambeau Field, the injury occurred during a 14-yard end around. As Watson went out of bounds at the Saints’ 6-yard line, Alontae Taylor and Kool-Aid McKinstry landed on his left knee.
He was in clear pain after the play and would leave the game. He would later return, but would again leave the game.
This is huge news for a Packers offense who relies on Watson for his deep threat ability. Here Is a look at his stats this season:
