The Packers had a heartbreaking end to the season Sunday night. Needing a win to complete an improbable run to the playoffs, the team lost to the Lions. This offseason will be full of questions but there is one thing we do know. We know where the Packers draft pick lands in the first round for the 2023 NFL Draft.
Packers Draft Pick For The 2023 NFL Draft
With the loss, the Packers land right in the middle of the draft order at no. 15. They will pick right after the New England Patriots and before the Washington Commanders. If the Packers had gone to the playoffs they would have been looking at a pick in the early 20s but now gain some spots in the draft order. The roster needs some help and with the number of impact players the Packers were able to get in this year’s draft, there is hope that the 2023 draft can be more of the same.
What Position Should They Target?
The Packers are going to have some options. There are three positions that I think they should go for: Tight end, Offensive Line, and Safety. The Packers have had a rough time in the red zone and it was on full display tonight. They need to get an impact tight end on the field which should help. The offensive line also had some rocky play tonight and throughout the season. Shoring up the line would help whoever is throwing passes next year. Safety will also be a huge priority. The back end of the defense has to be better next season. Check out our 2023 NFL Draft profiles for players that would fit well for the Packers.
There will be much debate on what should be done with the Packers draft pick in the 2023 NFL draft. This and many other decisions will have to be made by the front office. The offseason and the road to a bounce-back season start now.
