The Packers need to make a critical hire this offseason.
Following former Packers quarterbacks coach Tom Clements announcing his retirement, head coach Matt LaFleur and the front office will need to prioritize finding a replacement who’s capable of speaking Love’s language and overseeing the promising young quarterback’s continued development.
Shortly after Clements announced his decision, ESPN NFL analyst and former quarterback Dan Orlovsky revealed that he’s interested in the job.
“Would be an honor,” Orlovsky posted on social media, when a user suggested the Packers hire Orlovsky for the role.

Orlovsky has become one of the most respected quarterback analysts across NFL media and could make a fascinating hire for LaFleur, Love, and the Packers.
During his seven-year playing career, Orlovsky completed 58.2 percent of his passes for 3,132 yards with 15 touchdowns to 13 interceptions.
Whether Orlovsky winds up signing a new deal with ESPN or throwing his hat in the ring for other NFL coaching jobs remains to be seen. But the opportunity to coach Love, who has such a strong collection of young talent around him on offense, could be an alluring role for Orlovsky to get back into the league.
