The Packers have a much-needed bye this week. After a comeback victory against the Bears, the Packers get the week off before the final four games of the season. The Packers will get a little extra time to prepare as they play Monday night against the Rams. The Rams have had a subpar season and quarterback Matthew Stafford is on injured reserve. This means that the Packers could see another former no. 1 overall pick in Baker Mayfield after the bye.

Packers Could See Baker Mayfield After The Bye
Baker Mayfield was traded from the Browns to the Panthers in the offseason. He did not last a full season on the team. He was released by the Panthers this week and many wondered if any team would take a chance on him. The Rams ended up claiming him on waivers. There is a chance he starts this week but it is almost a guarantee he starts against the Packers. The Packers faced the Mayfield-led Browns last year and picked him off four times. Expect the secondary to be ready to duplicate that performance.
The Rams Need To Win
This move screams desperation for the Rams. Mayfield has been bad in terms of a no. 1 overall pick. However, the Rams cannot just go into tank mode. They owe their pick to the Lions as a part of the Matthew Stafford trade. A higher pick does them no good. At the beginning of the season, the Packers were looking at a matchup with Stafford. A matchup against Baker Mayfield looks much more favorable in a must-win game for the Packers.
The Packers are in must-win situations for the rest of the year. While Mayfield has not played well, he sure is an upgrade over whomever the Rams were trotting out at the quarterback position.
