New York Giants had injuries to multiple QBs in Week 4
Luck came the Green Bay Packers’ way in Week 4. The Packers didn’t have to play the New England Patriots starting quarterback Mac Jones due to injury. Packers linebacker Rashan Gary would knock out the Patriots’ second-string quarterback in the first quarter. It appears the Packers won’t have to face another starting Jones quarterback at 100 percent when the New York Giants play the Packers in Week 5.
Per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Daniel Jones is day to day with an injury.
#Giants QB Daniel Jones, who left Sunday’s win with an ankle injury, is considered day-to-day, source said. While tests will continue, there is some optimism that he plays… which is good. That means Saquon Barkley can play running back.

Jones was carving up the Bears’ defense running the Bootleg in the team’s win over the Chicago Bears Sunday. He ran for 68 yards before he had to come out with an ankle injury. The Giants’ running game was effective with Jones and backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor against the Bears. The two quarterbacks accounted for 98 of the Giants’ 262 running yards. Taylor was also injured during the game. Saquan Barkley played some quarterback with the injuries to Jones and Taylor.
Packers need to take advantage of these injuries
The Giants will possibly have to turn to quarterback Davis Webb. Webb is not known for his mobility. Even if Jones or Taylor are back for the Week 5 game against the Packers, the two might not be able to run the ball effectively. That’s a huge break for a Packers defense struggling to be consistent with their run defense.
The Packers needed to take better advantage of the Mac Jones injury than they did in Week 4. Watching the Packers struggle against a Patriots team on their third-string quarterback, who was a rookie, was disappointing. The Packers needed to win that game handily. Fortunately, they could sneak out of Lambeau Field with an overtime victory. Next week, they will need to do better against a banged-up Giants team in London.
