The Packers bounced back to their normal selves against the Bears last night, winning 27-10 behind Aaron Jones’ performance. Green Bay looked in control the entire game and the Bears struggled to get anything significant going all night. Some players from both sides showed out during an entertaining Sunday night contest.
PFF has released their player grades for the game last night, and here is a quick breakdown of some notable grades.
Packers Running Backs Again Top Performers
Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon both had an incredible impact on the game again for the Packers. Jones finished the game with 170 total yards and two touchdowns. Dillon, on the other hand, had 67 total yards with 18 carries.
Jones ended the game with a rating of 90.1 on offense. In particular, he was given a rushing rating of 85.6 and a pass blocking rating of 68.8. Dillon had an offensive rating of 73.6, down from his 76.7 last week. He also recorded a rushing rating of 72.9 to go along with his run block rating of 70.8.
Along with the running backs, some other players had great games on offense for the Packers. Yosh Nijman was given a tough opponent in Robert Quinn, who has been a feared rusher for a while now. Nijman held his ground and recorded an offensive rating of 70, and a pass block rating of 75.1. Elgton Jenkins also saw his first action back last night and struggled a bit, recording a rating of 58.5.
For the Bears, their top performer offensively was David Montgomery. The running back recorded 122 yards for an average of 8.1 per carry, as well as two receptions. Justin Fields also had a rushing touchdown, but only threw for 70 yards in the loss.
Green Bay’s Defense had All the Answers for Bears
Preston Smith showed up last night, recording two sacks and seven total tackles. He finished the game with a pass rush rating of 79.9, and improved 20 points from last week against the Vikings. Rashan Gary also recorded a sack and an additional TFL, which brings him to a pass rush rating of 64.3.
It wasn’t a great statistical performance for the Packers defense overall. However, it was mainly due to the fact that the Bears offense had played that poorly on Sunday night. Perhaps one of the most effective performers on defense for the Packers was Kenny Clark, who recorded a tackle and a QB hit. He finished the game with a defensive rating of 78.7 and a pass rush rating of 90.5. Clark continues to build in the pass rush game this year where he has been a significant threat.
The bears had a few performers on defense. Justin Jones recorded a defensive rating of 77 and Trevis Gipson recorded 73.4. Gipson also had a pass rush rating of 80.1 against a solid Packers line. Most notably, Eddie Jackson recorded a tackle rating of 78 after having nine tackles and one TFL.
