As mentioned by new special teams coach Maurice Drayton, no one on the special teams is safe from being replaced. And for good reason as the Packers were bottom five in every punting metric. Bring in new people was always on the cards for Drayton as I mention in an article a few weeks ago. Joe Fortunato will either push Bradley to improve or end up replacing the current long snapper.
Joe Fortunato
The long snapper was signed on Wednesday, March 24th, to create a competition for Hunter Bradley. Both Bradley and his Punter JK Scott were wildly inconsistent during the 2020-2021 season so it is no surprise to see some new faces in the special teams room.
He has been in the league in some capacity since joining as an undrafted free agent in 2017. He attended the University of Delaware and was a four-year starter. In the NFL he spent time with two teams, the Colts and the Cowboys.
The Packers now have an extra player in each special teams position on the current roster.
