The Green Bay Packers are searching for any help they can get at the wide receiver position. Christian Watson and Randall Cobb will most likely miss significant time going forward. Cobb will miss at least four weeks and we are unsure of how long Watson will be out. Even with Sammy Watkins being activated off IR, the Packers felt the need to activate one more WR this week. Rookie stand-out Samori Toure will get his first opportunity to see the field today.
Samori Toure Gets First Shot Of Season Vs Commanders
Packers’ 7th-round WR Samori Toure getting a shot today. He’s active.

Toure is not your typical seventh round wide receiver. He spent all but one year of his college career at the University of Montana, an FCS school that does not get much recognition. In 2019, Toure had 87 receptions for 1,495 yards. This guy has a ton of talent and potential.
Samori Toure was eventually a 7th round pick out of Nebraska in the 2022 NFL Draft. In a short amount of time, Toure has impressed. He was the Packers leading receiver during the preseason hauling in 9 passes for 125 yards. On Family Night, he caught a beautiful 54 yard deep pass from Jordan Love for a touchdown. Many fans were clamoring for Toure to get playing time earlier on in the season. Especially given the inconsistency we have seen at the wide receiver position so far. Now, with injuries playing a factor, Toure will get his opportunity. While we are unsure how much playing time he will actually see on offense today, we are hopeful he gets some looks in the passing game.
