Even though Packers rookie receiver Christian Watson was suited up for the Packers last preseason game, he did not play. He or none of the Packers starters played in preseason.
To be fair to Watson, he is coming off knee surgery from earlier in the off-season. Fans were surprised to say the very least.

With the NFL reducing their amount of pre-season games from four to three, it forces coaches to make a difficult decision between healthy players vs players having rust.
Rookies are no exception. With Watson in particular, he is coming off a knee injury as mentioned earlier but having repetitions in practice can only go so far.

Despite fans being unhappy, the decision to sit Watson might benefit the Packers when the season begins. We shall see if the rest for him and all of the Packers starters paid off.

The Packers season begins against the Vikings in Minnesota on September 11th. Fingers crossed…
