The Tampa Bay Rays are looking to be very active this week. Their 40-man roster is full and they have a lot of good players to add. Time is not on their side as the deadline to protect some valuable prospects is Tuesday afternoon. The Rays have already traded Ji Man Choi to the Pirates for a pitching prospect, so the Brewers should be calling to inquire about who is available. One particular player they should target used to play for them. That is J.P. Feyereisen.

Pitcher: J.P. Feyerisen
Feyereisen was acquired from the Yankees in September of 2019. He was protected by the Brewers that offseason and made his MLB debut during the shortened 2020 season. In 2021, he really burst onto the scene and did not allow a run in his first 17 appearances.
Eventually, Feyereisen was traded to the Rays along with Drew Rasmussen. The return for the Brewers was Willy Adames and Trevor Richards. As a member of the Rays, Feyereisen has continued to excel. The only caveat has been his health.
In 2022, Feyereisen did not give up a run in 24.1 innings pitched. Unfortunately a shoulder issue shut him down for the season prematurely. The now 29 year old is not arbitration eligible until 2024 and could be a big boost to the Brewers bullpen.
Matt Arnold has already shown that he is not afraid to re-acquire players. Last week he traded for Payton Henry, who was a long time prospect in the Brewers system. Maybe he will consider making a similar move with J.P. Feyereisen.
