Over the last couple of years, the Green Bay Packers have been connected multiple times to current free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Before he signed with the Los Angeles Rams last season, it looked like the Packers were going to get him. This year, the Packers were connected as a potential suitor to give Aaron Rodgers another lethal weapon to work with if he could get healthy.
Beckham ended up not signing with a team this season and instead focused on recovering fully from his torn ACL. Looking ahead at the upcoming offseason, Beckham will get to pick his new team once again.
There is currently a ton of drama surrounding Green Bay with Rodgers potentially being on his way out the door. Rumors have been swirling that Rodgers could be traded and the Packers could move forward with Jordan Love under center. No one truly knows what will happen, but the offseason will tell us before long.
Could Odell Beckham Jr. End Up With The Packers?
Bleacher Report wrote an article discussing potential free agency targets for the Packers. Once again, Beckham’s name made the list as a wide receiver fit in Green Bay.
It seems almost a guarantee that the Packers will be mentioned when discussing Beckham’s next team. If Rodgers stays in town, the move could make sense, as the superstar quarterback has openly stated that he would love to play with Beckham. However, if Rodgers leaves, there seems to be little to no chance that Green Bay would be in play.
Last season split between the Cleveland Browns and Rams, Beckham ended up having a solid year. He caught 44 passes for 537 yards and five touchdowns, with most of those numbers coming in Los Angeles. In the playoffs, Beckham caught 21 passes for 288 yards and found the end zone twice in three and a half games.

At 30 years of age, Beckham could be an intriguing target if the Packers feel they can get back to Super Bowl contention. Green Bay feels very good about their young wide receiver duo of Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs, but Beckham would add an elite playmaker if back to full health. Rodgers being in town could be the thing that sells Beckham on the Packers.
Other teams that are expected to be very much in play for Beckham this offseason include the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, and San Francisco 49ers. Plenty of other teams would have interest if he has fully recovered from his injury.
Granted, it seems very unlikely that Beckham would sign with the Packers. But, stranger things have happened and Green Bay could certainly offer him a chance to play with one of the best quarterbacks of all-time if he sticks around. Playing with a young quarterback like Love could still be intriguing, but would make the chances much less likely.
Expect to hear a ton of rumors surrounding the Packers in the coming weeks. The future of Rodgers will be the hottest topic in the league until things are figured out. Keep an eye on the Packers and Beckham if Rodgers does end up staying in Green Bay for another season.
