The Green Bay Packers are not favored by many to make much noise in the NFC. Many NFL analysts believe they will finish near the bottom of the woeful NFC North. Of course, this is because the team made the decision to move on from future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers to former 2020 NFL Draft pick Jordan Love. Additionally, the team’s wide receiver room is made up of young players with little-to-no- NFL experience. Of course, the same is true of the tight end room, which is highlighted by 2023 NFL Draft picks Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft.
That being said, there is a lot to like about this Packers team. While they are unproven in some ways, their offensive line and running back duo of Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon are among the best in the NFL. If Love and the pass catchers are an improvement over the debacle that was the Rodgers-led offense last season, Green Bay could be much better than expected.
The Green Bay Packers Are Being Overlooked by the Rest of the NFL

One of the great things about the NFL in recent years as been the difference in playoff teams from year-to-year. While there are several teams that are perennial contenders, others sneak in for a year or two before having to rebuild again. The Packers, of course, missed the NFL Playoffs last season, but that does not mean they are down and out in 2023.
PFF recently posted an article identifying five overlooked teams in the NFL, and the Packers were one of them:
“The Packers were in the hunt for the NFC’s final playoff spot right up until the end of the season and have a pretty strong roster outside of a huge question mark at quarterback. While Jordan Love‘s potential performance is a big unknown right now, it’s worth noting that the Packers were still in playoff contention despite Aaron Rodgers producing a 77.5 PFF grade in 2022, the second-lowest of his career. If Love can even be a top-16 starting quarterback in the NFL, the Packers are absolutely good enough to contend in the NFC North.”
As much as fans appreciate the greatness that was Aaron Rodgers, and as thankful as we are for all of the fond memories, the fact of the matter is that he just was not that good in 2022. He oftentimes looked and played like he did not care and refused to follow Matt LaFleur’s play calls. It was time for both parties to move on.
That being said, the Packers were 4-1 when Aaron Jones had 15 or more carries, and 3-0 when Dillon had 15 or more carries. If they stick to the run game, and Love is even just average, the Packers will win the NFC North.
