NFL News: The Green Bay Packers are in the midst of a new era. For the first time in 15 years Aaron Rodgers won’t be the starting quarterback come week one of the NFL season. The many veterans who have left the team coupled with the influx of draft picks over the last two years have all of a sudden made the Packers one of the youngest teams in the NFL. The last two off-seasons have also seen the Green Bay Packers off-load two of their best players via trade in Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers. Could one of their oldest remaining players be next?
Green Bay Packers Swindle New York Jets Once Again In Proposed David Bakhtiari Trade
An article by Freddie Boston highlighted a scenario that sent David Bakhtiari to the New York Jets for another massive haul:
AI creates David Bakhtiari trade proposal and the Packers fleece the Jets
AI is pretty incredible, and it’s scary how accurate it can be with its answers. However, it clearly still needs some work.
We asked ChatGPT to create a trade proposal with Bakhtiari going to the Jets. Its answer was, let’s say, wishful thinking from a Packers’ perspective.
The trade sees New York give up defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, a 2024 third-round pick, and a 2025 fourth-round pick for David Bakhtiari. What?!
No matter how much this would suit the Packers, it’s never going to happen. The Jets aren’t going to give up Williams, a 25-year-old All-Pro defensive tackle, and draft picks, for Bakhtiari.
While That Trade Scenario May Be Wishful Thinking, What Could A Different Trade Look Like?
David Bakhtiari is still one of the best pass protectors in football, but his time with the Green Bay Packers could be nearing an end. According to Spotrac, Bakhtiari’s cap hit rises to $40.47 million next year. That’s quarterback money for a left tackle entering his age-33 season. The Packers have gotten younger this offseason by moving on from several veteran starters. It is guaranteed that the Packers won’t pay that massive cap hit for a left tackle, so why not get what you can out of him?
Bakhtiari has been named in trade packages already this off-season that have yielded a second or third round draft pick. That would be a realistic option for the Packers to ask of the New York Jets in this type of trade scenario.

“Again” implies the Jets were swindled in the Rodgers trade. If you belive that, you are hallucinating.
Forgot to mention that Bakhtiari has not been able to get/stay on the field with any regularity the past few seasons.
LOTTA money for a guy that can’t play
